Amazon nations unable to agree on 2030 deforestation goal

Eight South American nations recently agreed on a list of joint actions to protect the Amazon rainforest, but failed to mention a long-awaited target to halt deforestation by 2030. It also fails to mention halting fossil fuel contracts in the Amazon rainforest, something Colombia was hoping to achieve.
