G7 drops Climate Agenda at Paris Meeting

At a meeting of Environmental Ministers of the G7 in Paris at the end of April, host government France agreed to drop climate change from the meeting agenda to appease the United States. Instead, the Group met to discuss biodiversity initiatives and related funding. France defended the decision as necessary to maintain peace and order between nations at the meeting and reach agreement on other key issues. At the sidelines of the meeting Canada told the AFP that nature and climate went hand in hand and that the two were inevitably being discussed together.
