Uganda is pursuing bilateral deals of internationally transferred mitigation outcomes (ITMOs) under the Paris Agreement with potential buyers including Switzerland, Singapore and the UAE, according to Carbon Pulse. Under article 6.2. of the Paris Agreement countries can pursue cooperative action together to jointly achieve their NDC goals through the sale and transfer of carbon credits (ITMOs) from one country to another. The goal of achieving $10 a credit would be a good starting block, as African countries have typically struggled to get good returns on the sale of their credits internationally.
