Senegal Signs Just Transition Pact

Senegal has signed a deal with members of the European Union, the UK, and Canada in which the it will receive €2.5 billion to help it achieve a target of 40% of installed electricity capacity from renewables by 2030. The deal was announced by President Sall at the Paris Summit for a New Global Financing Pact. According to the partners, an investment plan will be developed within twelve months, and will identify the investments required and the opportunities to implement the just transition in Senegal.
