Osinbajo and Ruto Urge African Governments To Take a Stand On Climate Change

During a meeting with Africa Europe Foundation, on the side-lines of the Ibrahim Governance Weekend programme earlier this month,  Nigerian Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, called for the coming together of African governments and leaders to develop a common resolve to push the Climate Positive Growth Agenda. The agenda emphasises how the continent can offer solutions to the global climate crisis while attaining economic growth. Kenya’s President Ruto has also asked African leaders to speak boldly on issues affecting the continent, especially on unfair treatment by international institutions. Ruto stated that leaders must push for radical reform of multilateral financial institutions and the international financial system to make it more just.
